Monday afternoon and it was time for a drive north of town to Two Wells and Mallala, South Australia, to catch up with a few work colleagues and take a few snaps. The weather was bit 50/50 and a dust storm a couple of hours earlier was making things difficult - but it turned out nice in the end. Southern Shorthaul Railroad train #2RQ6 with EMD-powered locos C509/BRM002/C505 up front is seen here on its long trek (about 1,000 miles) back to Narrabri in New South Wales with a load of barley for drought affected feedlots in that region.
