Issues with Lunde Studios "Park Place"

In the N universe of only either small downtown buildings/stores or huge downtown skyscrapers, it was great that Lunde Studios came out with a moderate-sized office building typical of a mid-sized town business district. I bought the kit and did some modifications to fit in the scene (cutting down the height some, rearranging windows on the side and back wall, mainly). However I saw that if built as instructed, the front windows do not align with the side windows. You can even see this in the online picture of it.There is an extra piece of façade between the fourth and fifth floors that causes the problem. Since I was already sawing up the walls it wasn't much more effort to cut out the excess façade. I wrote to Lunde Studios about this glitch but never received an answer.
I didn't get around to assembly of my modified walls until now, and noticed another flaw: the beveled edges on parts of the wall corners aren't trimmed far enough. The ideal situation is to have the beveled edge of a wall with a 45 degree bevel that comes to a point right at the edge of the wall. The result when glued together is only a thin joint right at the corner of the building as the brick facings butt up against each other.
There were places on the beveled edges that did not come to a sharp edge, and in some places the angle of the bevel wasn't 45 degrees. This would leave a wide gap right at the corner of the building.
I took a dremel cutting bit to remedy this -- again it wasn't much extra work since my cutting and rearranging the window sections meant I had to do some beveling of my own.
This is a beautiful building and certainly of a size needed in N scale, but if you're going to buy one you'll have to do some modifications to make a realistic model.

Well, that’s a bummer, particularly the misaligned windows. These kits, while beautiful architecturally, aren’t inexpensive. I’ve used a bench mounted disk sander to do 45 degree bevels on some smaller Magnuson buildings, never anything this large, but perhaps it would work? Good luck...and Merry Christmas,

i find that not all buildings in the 1:1 world have windows--front, side, and back--that do not line up.
the only necessary thing is that they are all within the dimension of the floor, all windows for the
1st floor within the 1st floor's parameters, all windows for the 2nd floor within the 2nd floor's parameters.
given the era of some buildings, there are 8' to 12' (or even taller levels). thus, some windows might
sit higher or lower on a given floor/level but still as in 1:1 within their given parameter location.

as for the bevels...i have 2 Lunde kits and have not had any bevels other than two walls fitting together
making a fine corner without any gaps. could the bevel have been blunted in storage/delivery/box movement?

as for me, Lunde kits are awesome and provide that "bigger" than many kits look and detail

i hope your's work out for you

sincerely
