con-cor passenger car

I'm new to n-scale. How do you remove the body from an N-scale Con-cor passenger car ? Car is not new, I bought it used. There is something loose inside the car & I want to fix it.  I removed the truck screws but that didn't work. Thanks for any help.  Bob

Rob,
Over the years, Con-cor has made a number of passenger cars with different designs, and also marketed cars made by other designer/manufacturers.  Most will have a removeable roof, while others the roof is cast on, but the floor will pop out. 

More info or a photo would be helpful.

It depends on the passenger car.. but in most cases.. the under frame, ends and sides are one piece.. Roof is a separate piece that may (ConCor/Kato/Rivarossi) or may not (MRC/ROWA) have glass as part of the roof.

The 'glass' roofs clip on the frame at the bottom. (Look at the underside around the center for 2 clear clips.)

The non glass roofs clip on the body at the roof seam.

Also.. Likely the trucks clip on.

The roof, sides & ends are one piece. The floor is separate. I have spread the bottom of the sides apart but nothing wants to move. This car is a fluted side streamliner car, California Zephyr

On the MRC cars, the roof comes off, and sides floor and ends are one piece (at least all of mine are).

Here is an example of how a ROWA/MRC car comes apart.  Not sure if that is the same as yours, because you mentioned that the roof and sides/ends are one piece.

So ...

If you have the Concor Budd car, there are 4 slots on the underbody - two on each side close to the skirting.

The slots also hold the plastic window glass tabs. The underbody/floor piece can be gently removed by lifting it up (car positioned upside down) while inserting a thin blade jewelers screwdriver in each slot and gently twisting to release the top of the tab. You have to "work it" tab by tab.

More: Be careful not to break the tab ears from the window glass - the "ears" hold the floor in place. When placing the blade, insert it gently between the clear plastic tab and inner edge (closest to the car's centerline). Spreading the tab slightly outward should pop it loose and the floor can be gently lifted up.

Hello: That's it. I used a thin screwdriver. Separated the clear plastic tab & inserted a plastic toothpick to hold it away while doing all 4 tabs. Had a rattle in the car. Appears to be an extra truck mounting screw lying loose. Thanks for every ones help & ideas.
