AMTRAK Blue

What have you guys found to be a good color match to Amtrak blue?  I'd prefer it to be acrylic instead of enamel....

Which blue?  Old school "Red White and Blue" Blue?  or the newer slate blue color?  I don't have an answer for you either way, but you should clarify the question.

Speaking of the Amtrak Blues, was the Phase I and II (wide stripes) blue the same as Phase III (even stripes) blue?  Then of course we could have fading that would lighten the colors.

But I'm not sure if I agree with them stating that the platinum mist paint used on the locomotives was gray - I think it was metallic silver (just like the Floquil paint).  But I'm no expert so I won't go ahead and change the atricle (unless I find some positive proof).

BTW, wouldn't this thread be a better fit in the Prototype section of this forum (not in N/Z scale)?

I'm not sure if @rapidotrains makes their Amtrak Proto Paints anymore, as the link on their website is dead. But I've heard they are pretty accurate and they are acrylic.

Blues through Phase I to III is pretty much the same.  At least not enough to make a noticeable difference with weathering and fading.
