Cool picture, Philip.  The timing of that photo was critical, or else the jets would have been gone in the blink of an eye.

Nine, actually!

Odd that the feeling of years seem like they are flying by , and events remembered are less long ago . Good luck .

[ Guests cannot view attachments ] Did some more painting of Shapeways detail parts, filling in between less important stuff. ;)  Toolboxes, saws, lockers, cabinets, lathe, etc. are all in primer, most have first color coat, but I followed through with one (of a set of five) of the fork lifts to use around the lumber yard.  Today I finished the black and silver details and did the final clear coat. :)

I'm getting the needed practice working with N scale, striving for crisp detail in spite of the size.  These little pieces were a challenge to paint but again, another leap in understanding and getting techniques that will work.  I'm pretty happy with the results.  Just placing some completed components about gives a sense of the look I'm after for the lumber yard but much needs to be done before I can call it a scene.  It will get a rework from the ground up.  And I'll probably be asking for help and advice. 8) :D

Here are some pics:

Thanks but if it's mechanical or larger 1:1 stuff I can often help.  It's what I did for decades.  But if it's modelling at these miniature scales, all I've got are ideas of how it might be done, many gleaned from this board.  Sometimes I feel like the guy who stayed at a Holiday Express last night. :)  The 1:1 experience is certainly helpful but the diminutive size is another whole level of doing and another whole set of tools and experience.  Most of my efforts are still learning pieces.  Almost every one can be better next time. 8)

And here is another piece that was in the batch of stuff I painted, finally getting windows and trim.  It's one of @Rasputen cast kits, a '49 Hudson Commodore.  This was my first of his kits and I'm quite happy with it.  This was of specific interest as it's one of a pair of Hudsons that myself and my brothers had starting in late middle school (for me) and on through college age.  Ours was a '50 but there's very little difference through to about '53 for the Hudson "step downs", Wasp, Commodore, and Hornet.  In this size this '49 could stand in for any of those.  Our other one, first one acquired and first car engine I rebuilt by myself during my eighth grade school year was a '37 Terraplane.  Fun car that we put 43,000 miles on and last I heard, was in Ohio and still running well.

So this one is black and has a little meaning to me. 8)  I'm satisfied with it but next one will be better. ;)
