Confederation Decals

I'm looking for a set of decals in N scale to do the Canadian Confederation train. Black Cat is out of stock and don't know if they can get more.

I would try to get in touch with Al directly. Last time I spoke with him at a local RPM show he had a set he was trying to sell, though his website was already showing out of stock. He has also printed some custom decals for me a few times, so he may be willing to run another set for you. Worth sending him an email...

Also contact High Ball decals. ORO made a set and Highball bought the ORO catalogue so he would have the artwork.

Not that I’m aware of, but I think most of the cars are available either RTR (Rapido for CN) or in resin (Gooderham Models/Central Hobbies for the CPR). And if you want the loco shells as accurate kits then Central Hobbies offers both CN and CPR FP7/FP9 resin kits.

I have the two Intermountain FP7's painted in that scheme. Thought it was about time to model one. Do you know of anyone how has model this train?

Somebody has done one, because I made 8 (IIRC) windowless CPR 2200 coach bodies for that somebody. I cast up a bunch of regular 2200 coaches and filled the windows with additional resin and sanded them smooth. It was more work than I bargained for, but if you're interested I would do some more for a railwire member. I don't recall who made the decals, but if it was Black Kat and you can get Al to make another batch you should be in good hands; he makes great decals.

I suggest you try contacting Central Hobbies directly; I recall that the Confederation Train project was sort of a Central Hobbies project (or on behalf of one of their customers) and they may be able to help with some of the details.
