I haven't done a side by side yet, as details or photos of the Athearn release has been sketchy until now, but the Athearn version at least has upper rub/lift rails along the side roof line to protect against lifting equipment for intermodal use and the Trainworx does not. This doesn't mean the Twx isn't suitable for TOFC use, as there are plenty of photos of trailers on flats without upper lift rails.

Not all of the Trainworx 40-ft drop frame parcel trailers are sold out.  http://www.train-worx.com/40parcel.htm  It looks like 8 road numbers are still in stock.

Also, the Athearn trailers do not appear to be set up to run as doubles.  The test shots of the Athearn trailers did not appear to have a pintel hitch, which is prototypically correct for some of the UPS 40-ft drop frame parcel trailers.

Thanks guys!  So sans for small details, Athearn ones are pretty much the same trailers as TWX? Well, except for the decoration, and higher MSRP.
