Deluxe Innovations N Gunderson Maxi-Stack IV well cars have turned up today on the MB Klein web site. From previous Railwire threads, I thought Deluxe had gone out of business and was a bit surprised to see them. Does this mean that rumors of Deluxe's demise were premature, or is this just leftover stock that it making its way through the system?

All I know is that I tried (email & phone) a little while back to request a couple of fix-it kits and never got a response  :facepalm:

Edit: the cars look like the same numbers so I guess it is leftover stock.

All of my pre-orders, done through my dealer, have been canceled. I thought he was forced out of business as a result of the Sandy flooding.

Dave Ferrari (Deluxe Innovations) attended the N Scale Convention in Pittsburgh in June.  Too bad someone didn't ask him then (but that is not something I would want to ask).  But I'm pretty sure that a reliable source posted a message here that the company was shut down.

It would be nice to know for sure; with all respect to Mr. Ferrari (who for all we know may be desperately trying to save what's left), that is not the way to treat your customers/fans. 
Surely SOMEONE on this board knows him...

Dave is a nice guy.

Not sure why you got no response, but I emailed him earlier this year and got a response. Basically his inventory is in storage for now and all projects are on hold (including the all so needed "sheet and post" 40' 70s style smooth side containers). He did say he is filling orders but it is slow going.

I wish him the best and hope DI can return some day, but the crystal ball is just a paper weight here.

Deluxe Innovations is still listed on the Intermountain website- I had always thought they bought the line or had a manufacturing arrangement.  The Gunderson cars are listed as "in stock- contact your dealer"
