This might be one of those examples where something a bit oversize actually looks better than a properly scaled item. Sort of like N-Scale bricks and mortar. If they are properly scaled (especially mortar lines) then they will not be noticeable on the model, except for extreme close-up photography. But when viewed in-person without magnification the brick wall surface would just look like a smooth wall.
Same with corrugations. Slightly exaggerated-size corrugated material, when properly used and weathered, will look just right on a model.
