That's a PRR Foamite car. Three cars in one!


Not quite the same applications though. The Foamite car would be more for extinguishing chemical car fires or fueling station mishaps - preserves the fuel by sealing it from oxygen. The fire trains are all about water to extinguish trackside wildfires and incidents effecting treated ROW, like trestles - dampening the fuel to make it inflammable.

Sorry. I'll start another thread on foamite cars in which we will condemn and discourage folks from posting about common "water based fire fighting equipment."
