Any Tehachapi foamers thinking of going to this?  I wonder if they will let attendees walk up to the cross on Loop hill.

I'll have to check on flights to L.A. ....   :ashat:

Interesting! I know a couple of the presenters. Too bad we're 2000 miles away and triple committed for the weekend, it would be nice to catch-up.

The event makes sense given the relocation of Winterail to northern Oregon - the SoCal foamer community was left with a void to fill. I suspect it will be very crowded, and being let onto the ranch proper will likely be a once-in-a-lifetime situation.

Always a chance of that.  The Loop access day is a Thursday, do they typically schedule a work window then?

My main hope would be to capture some hi-res pics from Loop hill to help me with my layout backdrop.   However there are a couple of concerns.  First is the weather, second is to what degree the grass will have 'browned', and third is the sun angle in that 1-5pm time slot (don't want the camera facing into the sun).   For getting panorama/landscape pics, at least it would not matter if the trains were running or not.

Wow.  If I weren't hosting an open house and ops session the following two nights, I'd go....

I want copies.  ;)

Me too x2

Hopefully the weekend is a big success and it becomes an annual event. Access to the loop itself would be worth a plan ticket, especially if the presentations make it into the 90s era SP.

If I can get 'em, you've got 'em.   But are you sure you want them, if they have Walonger and Darth Vader  signals?   :D

However it's looking like my window is rapidly closing -- I have not heard back from the organizers on registration, and I need to book a flight *very* soon.  So we'll see if I can make it happen or not....
