SP&S Green Boxcar Lettering

On the SP&S green Gunderson boxcars, was the yellow lettering the same color as the SP&S "broad stripe" passenger car yellow?  The pictures I can find of clean cars seem to be much brighter and "yellower", but the passenger cars vary so much, depending on lighting, that it's hard to tell.

Bonus question:  Was this scheme ever used on a repainted boxcar?  KD/MT, many, many years ago, made an N scale model, numbered in the older 50 ft double door series, with this scheme.

The numbers Micro-Trains used was for Gunderson cars
I've never seen a 14xxx series boxcar in the green paint. Since it was introduced in 1968/69 odds are probably pretty slim...

Thank you!  The MT number is 14499, appropriate for the older double door car they used, except that it should be a GN-built car instead of a PS-1.  The data on the car also matches the 14000-14499 series.  It isn't just Gunderson lettering on a PS-1, they put some work into getting it "right", even if it is unprototypical. 

I was thinking that it might have been a one-off design, a car needing to be repainted in the months before the merger.  Since I also never saw one in Pasco, or found a picture of one, it couldn't have been common.

This is the car I had with the gunderson built number series seems they corrected it in a subsequient run! Good job MT!

The morning sun color guide for SP&S has pictures of the 14xxx series boxcars in the origonal brown and the large SP&S bilboard brown schemes. No green

I think mine was actually an earlier run, as the underframe and trucks still say "Kadee", but I can't promise they haven't been switched.  It also doesn't have end reporting marks, another sign that's it's probably older than yours.   

Mine has a larger road name, and no Plate C label, yellow door stripe, or "CAR-PAC" label. It's odd that they would take what was a plausible, if likely freelanced, car, and make an obvious fake from it.  But, as you said, yours is a good looking model.

ExactRail made the Gunderson car in SP&S, but I missed out on it, and t doesn't look like they'll ever be rerun.  So, I bought one of their MP cars on sale, stripped and repainted it, and am working on the decals.
