I thought the price was steep, but that is for the completed and decorated model.
Funny, the May/June issue on N-Scale Mag. has an ad for 3D printed parts to make this carload.

Back about 9 years ago friend of mine and I made a complete Boeing train. We used a 1:200 scale model airplane fuselage (the 1:144 scale version was way too big).  Here are couple photos.

We used the LBF cars and I build the guard/ice-breaker structure out of styrene shapes.  Also scratchbuilt the fuselage supports and printed the decals. Back then the fuselages didn't have the protective green film on them.





Just last night my friend just ordered the 3D printed (correct scale) kit of parts - we will be redoing that train.

I need to work on my flats and loads. Got a 1:144 757 that I'll build, then cut up. In my era, they weren't shipping fully assembled fuselages yet. They were being shipped in sections and assembled in Renton/Everett.

Daniel:  MRL?  I remember the news reports on that wreck.  One commenter said it looked like salmon trying to climb out of the water.

I think it must be the most expensive loss per car of any rail accident.
