Can't really get much simpler for a paint job. Conrail 1853 at the ex PRR 59th St yard in Chicago. August of '76.

I read recently that the former Bath & Hammondsport 2-6-0 #11 is up and running on the Everett RR,and is scheduled to be the power for an Easter Bunny Express tomorrow (Saturday). I had the day off today and am unavailable to go there tomorrow, so I drove up today in hopes it might be outside. Total bust, so I settled for these shots of equipment.







From there it was up to Cresson where I learned I just missed the Monongahela Heritage Unit by less than 15 minutes.  All was not lost though, as the "Barcode Unit" # 1111 went by just moments after I got there. 



Despite marginal weather, it was a good day - 8 freights went by in a span of 90 minutes.
