The MTL 28-1, 12-1, and RPO are (somewhat) correct for an early 50's NH passenger, right? I was wondering about two cars I kitbashed, a 14 section and an 8-1-2, if the NH ever ran those types and if so when?

I would imagine that the line did, likely in conjunction with the various trains they operated to and from Boston for the PRR and CP/B&M trains to and from New York.

I'll bet plenty of the 12-1 and 14 section cars made it onto the Bar Harbor along with pretty much ANY variety of floor plan from the Pullman pool.

All three are exactly correct for the New Haven, although the RPO as tooled is the short-lived 1913 as-built scheme.  New Haven changed the window arrangement from 4-2/3-3 to 4-0/0-4 fairly early in the life of the equipment, in addition to losing the lengthy NEW YORK NEW HAVEN AND HARTFORD across the letterboard.  The most common RPO scheme is Hunter Green with silver/white lettering, but in the late 1940s some of the class was painted silver with Hunter Green windowband and black lettering to match the new P-S fluted stainless steel 8600-class coaches.

The 12-1 is the most common Pullman Plan arrangement and many roads utilized it, including New Haven.  New Haven had multiple schemes on the class both before and after conveyance, as some of the cars ran to Washington in PRR consists and therefore were painted Tuscan red with buff lettering.  Other cars were either Pullman Green or olive green, and all the color schemes ran concurrently.

New Haven had the second largest fleet of assigned Plan 3416 Parlors, behind the all-Pullman-Green (and not TTG) fleet of the New York Central, but only one (Desiree) was equipped with mechanical A/C as configured on the MTL model.  All the others had ice-cooled A/C.  Also, the parlors were converted to commuter coaches upon conveyance from Pullman in the 1940s, a full decade before New Image.  The outside appearance remained the same, but they lost their names and were given car numbers.  Pretty sure they also were repainted from Pullman Green to Hunter Green, with silver/white lettering at the time of conversion, and later received the black and red-orange when New Image was implemented.  So — (a) no parlors ever existed painted in New Image with Pullman centered on top; and (b) parlor service was all but discontinued by the 1950s, with the equipment downgraded to commuter service.

New Haven had 8-1-3, not 8-1-2.  8-1-3 is the Tower series.  New Haven had three Tower cars, and each wore a different scheme.  Victoria Tower was painted in PRR Tuscan, Bresin Tower in Pullman TTG, and Bok Tower in Pullman Green.  All three retained their schemes after the conveyance, with NEW HAVEN replacing the PULLMAN across the top.

New Haven had one 14-1 car, named Wall Street, but it was an observation car with a lounge.

OK, I guess I'll be making these up in PRR colors and selling them. Unless these cars ran as PRR on the NH.
