How big are those EMD GP/SD class lights

Does anyone know how big the class lights on the ends of the EMD GP/SD locos are? Maybe 5"?

That is great reference material, but brutal trying to discern an actual diameter for the lens...
Don't see many that have interest in the old classification lights anymore...
You gonna use fiber optics?
Back when I did my tri-color class light project in a 40T-2, I flared .030" fiber acquired from Circuitron.
Good times with DCC in N scale.

Thanks for that. Looks like maybe 6" with, and with the gasket maybe 7"?

I'm not planning to model them as operational.  Although I have saved your article on your lights. Awesome work.

Lens area is 5", surrounding frame is 7". This was the last iteration of the design, made to replace the older styles with something relatively maintenance-free. The "classic" EMD class light was a 5" glass lens in a 7" steel ring/frame. IOW, same working dimensions, but a somewhat different look.
