That's the problem with non-railroad related movies that include railroad equipment in scenes.  They rarely get things right, either out of era, or region, or any other number of details.  In this case, the herald is totally wrong.

My Favorite was a TV show based on Roswell in the 1940's with a bunch of blue Alberta covered hoppers in the background...

There's a snippet in the movie 'Ray' supposedly in the 1960's IIRC, that has a glimps of a double-stack well car in the background.   In that case I think they didn't want the train and just didn't notice it was there. 

OTOH, I remember a scene in "Sweet and Lowdown" where I was pretty convinced I was seeing a 1940's ore train.  I wondered at the time if it was computer generated.
