I like the looks of this load ..


but instead of a 105, it looks more like this 155

The load is a howitzer from WWII, Korea, maybe early Viet Nam.  The current towed unit is an M777, google it and see what it looks like.  Also, google towed artillery, us  army and see what the current towed units look like.  That said, it could be a 155mm howitzer or an 8" howitzer.  For a 155mm Long Tom, you need a longer barrel.  Check on the dates, I do not think they would have been on a BN flat, unless going to scrap.

Agreed, it's a towed 155 howitzer, or 8" howitzer...not a 105...
WWII, Koean War, Vietnam...maybe it's heading to an American Legion Hall, VFW, or Memorial park...

The top picture of the two howitzer load have the correct barrel proportions for an 8 inch.

Interesting stuff, definitely seems to be 155mm (wish my dad was still around - he was in the 881st Artillery).

Almost all the WW2 pics I've seen have two wheel carriers though.

Game piece version in 1/100

I just finished a building Canadian 25 pounder battery today, need to do the base ground cover tomorrow after work.  Not nearly as nice a job but...
