4-8-4 Hmm. I wonder if some gifted soul could turn that into a certain 4-4-4-4 duplex.
The big problem here is that only the 3rd drive axle is driven by the motor. So the front engine would have to be a freewheeling dummy. But, OTOH, the fact that the forward 2 drivers are equalized as a pair might make the 4-4-4-4 a doable model.
I do not know much about crossheads, valve gear, etc., so I have a question for those of you who have that knowledge.So, we have the KATO FEF-3, right, well is the mechanism made up of "close enough" parts to morph into an ATS 3751. or 2926 that is being rebuilt in Albuquerque? ? If so, I best get my paws on another FEF. Oh Jason.Carl
