Bowser is not Red Caboose, although I've bought many red cabooses from them.

Red Caboose was bought out by Intermountain.  Bowser bought out Delaware Valley's line, but  Bowser's  PRR cabooses and hoppers came later...

As I understand it, Intermountain does the manufacturing as well, so it's a matter of semantics.  Perhaps partnered would have been a better term...

But Intermountain doesn't manufacturer anything. 

AFAIK, Bill still controls everything and IM is the distributor.

RED CABOOSE/INTERMOUTAIN "PARTNERSHIP"

Red Caboose and InterMountain Railway Company have entered into a "partnership" arrangement under which InterMountain will be responsible for the manufacturing and distribution of all Red Caboose product beginning May 1, 2009. InterMountain will provide information to its dealer network for Advance Reservations on all new releases, and production quantities will be determined by the interest shown through the reservations. The reservation period will be approximately seven weeks and production will follow within four to five months.

InterMountain will also have access to all of the existing Red Caboose inventory and will make that product available through its dealer network as well. All Red Caboose finished product will be shown on the InterMountain website. Undecorated kits and miscellaneous parts will continue to be available directly from Red Caboose.

Both Red Caboose and InterMountain are pleased to announce this new relationship and to continue providing this fine line of railroad models to the model railroad hobby.

Ok, the pack of six arrived today.  All six run just fine.  Two of the cars have a microtrains coupler in the truck Instead of the fixed knuckle coupler.  My guess is that they ran them as a unit and couple/uncouple with other cars.  So no issues running through turnouts.  So my other unit must have had an isolated issue.
