Intermountain FT LED issue

The LED goes off intermittently! different spots on track. Cleaned the track, still happens. Are the 3 mm LED's
 Any Idea what could be causing this. Oh, it is only in direction of travel, so doesn't seems to be a BEMF issue.

Try cleaning the wheels.  If that doesn't work, check the connection of the wires to the headlight and the PC board.  If that doesn't work, perhaps our DCC experts can chime in with more suggestions.

Just did that after cleaning track. I never had to open up an IM F unit before. Difficult to re-assemble? I want to check the wires to LED, but frame must be separated.

You need to remove the front coupling, then the shell should lift off. It may need to be pulled apart slightly, but it's not too hard.

Was a weak/badly soldered wire to back of a LED. OK-Dokey now. Love how easily the shell lifted off.
