I just talk to Matthew of Wheels of Time and he asked if you are still having issues with the 70-ft baggage cars, please email him directly:   talk2us@wheelsotime.com.    Matthew has tried multiple times to log into his account but was unable.

No issues with my cars rolling; albeit not as free rolling as some but zero operational issues. I'm trying to convert to body mounts and they are a bit tough to convert.... not a lot of space there for a MT body mounted coupler.
Model railroading isn't saving my life, but it's providing me moments of joy not normally associated with my current situation..... Train are good!

I have one possible solution for those whose cars roll poorly and "loud."  I tried to replace the wheelsets, and there was no improvement.  A close examination leads me to believe that these cars already come with FVM wheelsets.  They might be the regular flanges, because I could just discern a slight difference as compared to the low profile wheelsets I tried to put in.  Anyhow, the replacement wheelsets not being an improvement, I tried an experiment by pulling only the center wheelset out of the three axle truck.  As hoped, the car rolled better.  I since determined that the center axle was riding on the bolster pin.

So, I tried sanding down the thickness of the bolster pin, and this was successful at quieting the rolling characteristics.  If you think of the bolster pin as a mushroom, I sanded the "cap" down by about one-half its original thickness.  Yay!  Success!

OK , I just had to look ... I have 1 of the baggage cars. I never noticed any rolling problem. So I just now looked at it. It does roll just a bit worse than my Microtrains heavyweights , but not really enough to cause me any problems. As far as the noise, IMO its just the noise that normal metal wheel cars make. I examined the truck mounting pin and found that on mine ,at least, there is no chance of it rubbing the center axle . Maybe I have a later run car ?......Mike

I tried sanding down the bolsters on three cars and that made a notable improvement.  I also put some tape in the doors to keep them shut, works much better!

I did the 6 of the 8 I have on my layout.  Better but still lacking.  Hoping for Micro-Trains to come out with their baggage cars soon so I can retire then WOT cars.

Brian,
Are these the 70' cars? If so, when you "retire" them, consider sending them my way  ;)

These are the 70' cars.  My two NP cars will most likely stay on the rails as they match my Rapido and Lowell Smith cars.  The Burlington cars could be sent down the rails if MT brings out some baggage cars in the Q!
