More likely it's a 4900. Based on the type of service body, I seriously doubt they would have opted for the lower capacity 4700.

1989 to 2001 for the truck body, but what about the crane?  I can't explain why, but I want to model this car and load:

The cane is rather modern... bulkier than previous generations. I would guess that type of unit would not have gone into production until the 1990's. If you are looking for a smaller crane located behind the cab, check out some of the Tomytec trucks out there. Several have such a crane attachment.

I really want a bulk pack of this cab and chassis. These would be useful for everything from moving service trucks to landscapers and especially fire engines. Plop a Athearn KME pumper tank on top of the single axle crew cab and you have a pretty realistic commercial chassis pumper.

Daniel, this is as simple as emailing Walter at Showcase.  He is a super-nice guy. The worst outcome is if he says "no" . But since Showcase is already selling a builder's pack of bare truck cab and chassis, they might do it.  Or maybe he'll work out one-of deals directly with you.

I ordered one of these trucks the day it became available. It arrived shortly after that. I'll start assembling it today. I plan on adding some chocks in the rear to hold an axle with a traction motor. This is the perfect platform for a BNSF wheel truck.
