I'll be on the operating staff for Konrad Richter's (incorrectly spelled as Conrad) layout.
The Railway Interchange boxcar will be making its run over the layout on the Nov 2nd open house.

There will be a Bachmann EM-1 plying the rails during the open house as well.

If you are in the area, Konrad's railroad is worth a visit. His shear rock faces were impressive. I'll get some additional photos on my blog later in the week.

INSPIRATION Month- Week 2

This week I journeyed across the Delaware River to  visit Ted McLean's open house. Wow! His layout is meant for train watching. He runs the CSX through the "Sand Patch". I was amazed that the prototype built most of their bridge supports for 2 tracks but never got around to adding the second track. He has faithfully  modeled many of the signature scenes in the area. Here's a taste (I'll get more on my blog in a day or two):

It is SO worth the effort to see it.

Only a few miles off the turnpike and down PA 309 to Glenside.

INSPIRATION Month- Week 3

Took a trip up to central Jersey to see Rick Spano's famous Scenic & Undecided railroad. The theme is big time animation (of almost everything). Two mines actually loading the hopper cars, trucks going in and out of buildings, and fork lifts scurrying around an animated factory. And I got to see the working rotary car dump. Unbelievable including the kick-back track! Here's a taste (I'll get more on my blog in a day or two):







He also has noisy, animated fireworks!
