Pre-war to 1950 Vehicles

I have been back dating my layout to around 1950, so I have been adding pre-war and post-war vehicles up to 1950.  Here are some of the GHQ kits I have been using.  Also included is a Sylvan Models tractor-trailer (trailer by Ultimate N).

I would love to see other vehicles from this era.

Those look great! Lots of people slap down a few CMW cars and call it a day. Building those GHQ models really does pay off though.

For some reason nobody makes models of the other makes that used to be out there. Not everyone drove Fords.  Sometimes it's like watching a show sponsored by a particular car company.. I'm hoping to learn some of the techniques so I can add more variety. I like to see some Hudsons, Studebakers , Nash, Chevies, Willy's etc and so forth on the Allegheny Eastern.

Don't want to start a business. Just want that sort of stuff on the layout.

You'd have to look to see what CMW has released.  They have done a Hornet.  There won't be any licensed GM autos in N unless you make it yourself.

From GHQ, the panel truck, Suburban, and pick-up truck (all with the big grills) are Chevys.

License plates added.  Now officially licensed.

Are those Keystone plates?    Nice job on the cars, they look great! Care to share your painting methods?

Thanks.  Painting is pretty straight forward:  I spray the base color and then add other colors with a very small brush, a steady hand and a magifier.  Final touches include highlighting seams and grills with an alcohol/ink wash.

Are the wheels (tires, whitewalls and hubcaps) also hand-painted?  If yes, you have a very good eye and steady hand to paint such even circular shapes.
