Recall on the new Trainworx Rock Island TOFC cars

If you have ordered any of these or wanted to, or tried to and are unable.
There seems to be an issue with the actual models that was brought to my attention last night.
I have copied this off an on-line supplier's web page.

Rock Island Pullman Standard 85' Flat Car Recall Notice
Please read the following release from Trainworx regarding their Rock Island 85' Flat Car Release

    Dear Modelers,

It has been brought to my attention that the Rock Island 85' tofc flat car is not on the correct body. It is supposed to be the straight sill car but the production is on the fish belly car. If you have one of these cars it will be replaced as soon as I get the correct cars here. I don't know when the correct cars will arrive since I have just contacted the factory about this mistake. Dealers and distributors, please do not ship or sell anymore of the Rock Island flat cars. Pull them immediately. Modelers, please do not return your car to your dealer. Dealers please do not return your cars to your distributor. You will all be dealing with me directly for your replacements. When the replacement cars arrive I will send another email letting you know how to get your replacements. Feel free to email if you have any questions or concerns. Very sorry that I did not catch this until now and sorry for the inconvenience.

    At your service,
    Pat Sanders

I contacted Pat at Trainworx [ trainworx@wic.net ] last night and received a response promptly this morning saying this:

    Hi Allen,
It will be a while until the replacements arrive so don't send them back at this time. I will ad you to the email list so that you get the news when the replacements arrive and I will give instructions on how to get your replacement at that time.

    At your service,
    Pat

It's good to see a manufacturer who still stands behind their products and takes the time to contact [or reply] personally!

Yes, Pat really seems to be a stand-up guy.

For a second I thought the recall was due to the 85' flats being too hot!

Ouch - that is going to cost some serious money!
I can just imagine the Chinese manufacturer saying "Huh?  Wrong body style?  WTF, these little things are just toys.  Who cares how the bottom looks like!"  :D

I do agree that it is good to see a manufacturer actually recalling a model because of a mistake like that.

I also received this email from Pat, probably because I've corresponded with him before, and am on his email announcement list, as I don't have any of these ordered.  And, yes it's nice to see a manufacturer who'll do this.   Is this the first model railroad recall in history?

And I can remember being thrilled to get one of the Arnold piggyback cars in the late 60s.  Not the right length, and in a TTX paint scheme that probably never existed, but it was the only one around!
