Decoder for Atlas H15/16-44

I've always wanted one (because of the lighting effects), and was able to get one at Timonium for 12 loonies. The question is, if there is a DCC Decoder available that is specific to this model (and maintains the light functions)? I kinda want to avoid going through the making of a fancy light show if I can avoid it. The only decoder I know of that fits it is the Digitrax DN163A0.

The good news, Atlas sells a drop-in decoder (seems the Atlas storefront is down right now).   The bad, it may be a long wait if they aren't in stock.

I won't pretend to understand that question completely, but the the Atlas board will change the marker lights (front and rear) based on direction.

This is one of the locos I have to sell. I can answer any questions you have when I get it out to test run it (if no one else can answer them right now).

I know the analog board does this, the question is whether the Atlas DCC board has the same operation? Currently the Digitrax DN163A0 does not support the multi-light setup.

From the advertisement states that the lights will change in DC and DCC modes, so I just want to get confirmation before making attempts to purchase a decoder from Atlas. Most likely I'll just end up messaging Cory.

The Atlas board maintains the red and green marker lights.
Digitrax DN163AO will fit as will other manufacturer AO boards. However, the marker lights need to be hooked up by the installer. It's a PITA. i have DZ143's hard wired in mine.
The only true drop in board is the Atlas decoder. BTW, it ain't cheap.

I have done a few of these for a friend of mine. It was a bit of messing around, but if your handy with a soldering iron it can be done.

I modified the factory light board. I used a dz125 decoder and used 2x common anode 3 pin red/ green LED's.
The factory led's on the standard dc board are common cathode and this will not work with the outputs of the dz125.

Common anode are not easy to find but the are available on the net.

Thanks Brendan, while I would undertake this task...Im spent on hardwiring decoders (unless its steam) or TCS CN series. I'd rather just wait til another run of the parts come through and pick up a board that way. By the time I get the parts together I'd be shy of what the decoder would cost.
