85' Box Car Trucks?

I have a couple of the following cars:

What type of trucks should they have (preferably Micro-Trains). The trucks they came with are bettendorfs, but I'm wondering if they should have roller bearing trucks.

Long extended roller bearing trucks.
I've used both the MT standard roller bearing and/or the Barber.
A lot of these cars had 36" wheels for high speed movement.
Not that one can see them when the cars on the track.
(off the track, well, that's a different story! :scared: )

It's a good thing green bananas will ripen.
Unfortunately however, those CC cars will not ripen into real high cubes.

P-S, Thrall and Greenville built 70T and 100T 86' cars... just depended on customer requirements

Memory may be failing with advancing age but I seem to recall that the ConCor cars are of a earlier version and actually are vertically shorter then the more modern cars.

If I am wrong I am sure someone with more smarts will correct me. :D Besides I would really like to know. :?

The ConCor (nee Atlas/Rivarossi) models are indeed physically shorter in height than the Bluford and Trainworx cars.  I don't know if they are prototypically accurate.

I just eyeballed the Bluford Car next to the Con Cor car. The Bluford car looks about a scale foot taller (or a little more).

Okay, okay, Dee. I'm getting the ruler and seeing the Bluford car is 15' tall, and the Con Cor car is 13-1/2' tall. Satisfied?

All I have is a ConCor Western Pacific and it could be accurate if they used a correct road number. (I need to review, but iirc, Concor used road numbers for a group cars that don't really match the model, but  WP did have cars that match the model )

For the Con Cor cars I went with body mount 1015 couplers screw mounted and Berber roller bearing trucks (The micro trains ones with 3 rows of springs in the sideframes. )

The Con-Cor cars are not as tall as they should have been. I understand the molds were made to fit a previously existing mold base for another set of cars and that would explain the height difference. You are correct, the Bluford and Tranworx cars are the correct height. The Con-Cor cars weren't bad for the time the tooling was introduced.
