At the risk of starting another war over paint and decals - here is project on the planning board:

first question - thoughts on how to re-create those marker lights?  Is it reasonable to make them function? 

shells are M4D custom on GP40-2 chassis.  SD50 anticlimbers front and back with big, obnoxious plows.

I don't remember if it was on this forum, but I recall photos somewhere documenting one of our master modelers' fantastic job on the Tri-Rail scheme. Can anybody else recall it for Will?

Sunrise used to have a ditch light that would be perfect for those marker lights; unless it's a hair too large.  I believe it was Sunrise N-626 (626A has the hole pre-drilled -- the definite way to go if you're gonna light).  Rotate it 90*, so that the bracket is horizontally-oriented, cut off the leg on one side, and I think it'd fit on the nose perfectly.  It's just a matter of its size.

that might work...it'd have to be sanded flush.  might end up having to scratch it outta styrene...i'd like to put red LEDs in the front and back.  will post pictures of the engines in a bit.

Here we go:


Plan is the finish the three GP49s and eventually find the parts/shapeways/rapid prototype rear hood section for that F40PH.
