Need to know if anyone produces a Southern Pacific baggage/mail 80-BP-60-1 or something close.

Your best bet I think would be converting an old Atlas/Rapido/Riverossi Combination car...or possibly some brass sides produced that could be slapped on one of our cars or one of the fore-mentioned products.

M&R Models have sides available for building a SP 70-BP-30-3 Harriman baggage - mail, though there is not an accurate core to use them on.  Splicing two Wheels of Time 60' baggage cars would likely be the way to go... though it would be a bit costly.  A drawing of these sides can be seen at the link below...

Wheels of Time sold a 70-BP-30-1, in kit form, at least.  It is stock number 105.  How do I know this?  I have one unassembled kit.  I do not know if they still sell it.  Wheels of time seems to specialise in SP prototype passenger equipment.  They have, however, taken a lesson from C-C and do offer at least the baggage cars in other road names.

The WoT 70-BP-30-1, like all their other resin kits, have been discontinued for several years now.

I think I have one of those WofT kits. I knew I had a RPO/baggage at home but couldn't remember where it came from (which is why I took the time to look on the net). I've also kitbashed another 2 from old Bachmann or Lima passenger cars (even made a 40' South City caboose from one). Wish I could help more...

Are you trying for 5217 / 5218 as on the San Joaquin Daylight?

http://www.kls2.com/~karl/rr/sp/sp-sjd-1957.html

I was going to make mine from several Rivarossi baggage cars, cutting and pasting pieces of the sides to fit.  An initial study, with a photo of the real car's side photoshopped onto a Rivarossi baggage, is below:
