Trains 2012 This Friday-Sunday November 9-11 in Vancouver, B.C.

The public show will take place at the Cameron Recreation Centre in Burnaby, B.C. from 10AM – 4PM on Saturday and Sunday.

This annual show, in its 30th year, serves as an exhibition of the great hobby of model railroading, bringing together those with experience and those who are just becoming interested. We welcome all - whether you have a model railroad empire of your own, a train set or are just hoping to see some cool models.
Fares may be paid with cash only. An entrance fare entitles an individual to the public display areas of the Trains show, and to enter the hourly door prize. An entrance fare is good only for the day it is purchased.

There is also a Modelers Show starts on Friday. There will be 2 days of clinics, an escorted layout tour on Saturday night, a banquet with awards on Sunday evening, and a prototype tour to the West Coast Railway Heritage Park in Squamish, B.C. on Monday.

All details are available at:

It sounded like a good idea at the time... too bad the caboose wasn't in on the plan.

One of the reasons is that the existing comittee has put in a lot of years of service. Some have served for every show (30 years), others for almost as long and a few with not so many years. I would submit that the last show probably should have occurred several years ago. This is the case with most of the shows in BC and one of the reasons there is only a single show confirmed for 2013.  There are likely other reasons as well but at some point it had to wind down. I only did five years but it was more than enough. Time to let others spend their time and money on a new direction.

It may not be dead, just some hibernation, rumours of machinations going on in the background.

Thanks for the explanation. My thanks to the group that haven given there time to organize this. I've been 2 or 3 times and always enjoyed the show.
