Does Anyone Have Any Atlas 40' Airslide Hoppers?

Does anyone have these airslide hoppers. I know they came with either bettendorf trucks or 70 ton trucks. Trouble is, I don't know which truck style goes on which roadname. I checked the Atlas site for past N scale products, and I found a few of the hoppers I have and put the correct trucks on them. But I still have a number of hoppers w/o trucks. If you know which roadnames take which style truck, that would be a great help.

Hmm... bettendorfs or
70 ton trucks? Bananas
or termites for supper?
It's the same question
to me...

Two scientists create a teleportation ray, and they try it out on a cricket. They put the cricket on one of the two teleportation pads in the room, and they turn the ray on.
The cricket jumps across the room onto the other pad.

I think the more modern 70T roller bearings are correct for these.

The first time I looked at the Atlas site (past N products), I looked under Trainman rolling stock and found a number of airslide cars listed, but few that I had. Just out of curiosity, I went back to the site and searched for "airslide".
It was listed under rolling stock (not trainman), and there I found most of the cars I have. A number of cars had bettendorfs, and I now know which cars had 70 ton trucks. All's well that ends well.

Seventy-ton trucks were used on all the models.  Friction bearing or roller-bearing style depended upon the prototype.

Yeah, that's what I meant. :)

Hmm... I pay no attention
to Kiz...

bb. That's solid bearing trucks. The term friction bearing was, aw hell you know the story. Either would be appropriate, depending on build date, but there was no magic day when all solid bearing trucks dissapeared. In fact, they were only illegal in exchange service, so there, it's even more complicated. I would suggest some research checking photos.

As a bonus,  if you use the BLMA 70 ton trucks (solid bearing or roller bearing) it will lower the ride height so that MT 1023 couplers (or Z-scale couplers) body mount perfectly.  Still won't look quite as nice as the Athearn car, but it's about half the price and still a great looking car.

I'm sorry Dave, I'm afraid I can't do that.

Kiz,
I am pretty sure that the Milwaukee airslides were delivered with solid bearing trucks, and were later converted to roller bearing trucks. Not sure when that happened.

Best wishes, Dave

What road names are you looking for? I'll see what I can dig out for you.

Thanks, Cory, for the offer. I mentioned in a later post that I rechecked the Atlas site and found a list of cars that I had previously missed. I found almost all of the "missing" cars there. The 3 cars I didn't see/couldn't see clearly, I'm going to repaint for my private railroad, so I'll be free to choose whatever trucks I want.

Hmm... how about a
caboose truck on one
end, and an archbar
truck on the other end...?
