What the Heck are These?? (Intermodal Cars)

 OK, now I'm a bit of an intermodal nut and have seen just about everything out there, but what the heck are these???

They look like articulated TOFC flats (not Long Runners) or spine cars but with full-length wheel trays (the articulation joint looks spine car-ish).

Notice there is virtually no space between cars/platforms.

That is the CP Iron Road train between Toronto and Montreal, I think.  I've seen it a few times north of here.  There are some CP fans around here that will know the details.

Expressway, that's the name.  Usually is pretty empty when I've seen it.  I never see trailers on CN's parallel line, just containers.  Seems the trucks run on the road.

The eXpressway usually runs about half loaded when I see it (typically on Sundays). Frito-Lay is a large userYou do see the odd trailer moving on CN's Kingston Sub, typically on trains 148/149, but it is exceedingly rare. The eXpressway is pretty much the only train in Canada where one can see trailers on a train (other than some remote services offered by ONT and the former BCR).

I do occasionally see trailers on spine cars, flatcars and all-purpose well cars with trailer hitches, but these are crane-loaded, not ramp-loaded like traditional TOFC and the eXpressway. Expressway is the only dedicated ramp-loaded TOFC train(s) in Canada.

Note that these XPWX cars are only operated in this service. They don't wander away from the dedicated eXpressway trains.
