"Hurry Hurry !" They are going fast. Budd sleepers and dorm cars are all sold out. The Dome Obs car is $35.00. I ordered an extra flat top chair car, extra mail storage/baggage car.extra 11 bedroom sleeper, and of course I had to have an extra obs car. Nate Goodman (Nato).

I'm hoping that this will get Kato to look more strongly at selling individual cars... would be nice in some ways to be able to get them in such a manner, even if I would have to strip them.

The original UP 6203 lounge depicted in the Kato set currently is one of the business cars named Sun Valley.  The only modification appears to be three standard size windows replacing the smaller windows to the right of the service door.

After further research, it appears all of the cars in the series had the buffet windows replaced before UP sold them off.

This was a 1959 remodel done in the Omaha Shops according to the UP car diagram.  That space was originally a steward's room, barber shop, and shower before being converted to a card room with the three large windows.  There was a service bar in these cars, but no buffet.

More explanation is up on the Model:160 datasheet for this car:  http://www.model160.com/2011/05/10/acf-plan-7667159-lot-3034-up-club-lounge/

I picked up one of the Kato COLA lounge cars from the promotion.  Now I have try to pry away an extra set of windows from them so I can make an Amtrak-era lounge.

The original smoothside Diner glass should work: Part #805054

Excellent news, thanks.  I'll pick up a set of glass and then put everything aside for a rainy day.
