Unless my eyes deceive me, it looks like the Katos have foot stirrups and the Bachmanns do not. From what I can tell this is not a difference between Amfleets I and II.

Its a matter of manufacturer, but these should be easily added to the Bachmann models.

I cut away as much of the plastic around the wheels as possible, leaving three contact points (the metal tab and two retaining points. I also thinned the retaining tabs into a knife edge so that there is less friction. Finally, I added a lot of conducting lube.
