Pictures later . . .

The East Baton Rouge Parish Public Works road paving crew went to work this week laying a curved section of asphalt between the KCS main and the Exxon North Baton Rouge lead.  All was well until the KCS crew showed up to do the crossings, and installed a BLMA rubber crossing on one side and a FVM laser cut wood crossing on the other.  The paint crew will be along to strip in about 4 months.

Also got a Chuck Pack on Saturday (!) with the first FVM commemorative MT&T boxcar, and the MArch April 2011 N Scale mag with a great flatcar article by someone called David Vollmer.  Dave, is he any realtion, because he sure did a fantastic job!

No pics but I managed to cut the strips I need for most of the backdrop to install. I'm just debating on whether I want to do cove corners using the hardboard or use metal flashing/coil in the corners,

No modeling this weekend, but I did go up and operate at Tim Hensch's excellent Norfolk & Whey RR (www.nfwrailroad.com).  He's got it all signaled now, with really nice repeater panels on the fascia for signals that you can't see.

Just a wonderful layout to run on, and a great group of guys (even if it is HO   :P )

Late addition for me. Just finished adding all the grab irons and steps to this B60b. Hope to get it painted this week for my Fast Mail.

Goin look sweet !
Model railroading isn't saving my life, but it's providing me moments of joy not normally associated with my current situation..... Train are good!

Slow down? I'm just getting started. I'm on vacation (staycation) this week. Couldn't get the same week as my wife (she was off last week) Can't do much outside with the rainy weather either. So I'm building models and watching hockey this week! It's kinda nice being empty nesters this year.

Jamie,

You should write a book on railroad photography. Just another great photo.

Best wishes, Dave
