Kato GS-4 Infected with Bachmann-itus?

wow, never saw this one comming, so I installed a sound decoder in my GS-4, running it today, everything was going well, then BAM! locked up, and and noticed the rear driver on the right rear was out of quater, by quite a bit, so I removed the pin, and requatered it. While doing this, I noticed that the wheel was really loose on the axel, so I decided to investigate a little more, pulled the bottom plate, and noticed the plastic tube that connects the wheels was cracked almost from end to end. I figured while I had it open, I would check the rest, well all but one, including the gered axel were cracked. so for now it sits in the box, sans drivers, awaiting either parts or a trip to the warranty repair center.

I notifyed Kato, but I doubt they will cover it under warranty, because I modifyed the tender to accept the speaker, and modifyed the lightboard to have the mars light controled with the decoder. But we will see. I have not had any issues with kato Warrantys before, but I have never modifyed a loco this much and needed a warranty repair before.

anyone else had "Bachmann-itus" on these things before?
