I should have clarified... I won't get up there till tomorrow as I had family stuff today. Tomorrow (Sunday) night.

Doing this from my phone as I didn't bring my laptop. I took photos but won't be able to post them until Tuesday.

I don't have the inside connections that some people have so mainly I wander around and don't ask the msnufacturers too many questions. Didn't see much new stuff.

FVM has the new ribside caboose and the N Hiawatha on display. Matt thought that they might be available by Christmas. I saw over on Atlas that they are also releasing the GP-60 and 60B in N but somehow I missed that. The also have the Soo 7 Post XMs in HO.

Walthers was lamer than usual which is saying something. Didn't see anything new from Atlas, Athearn, IM. Traincat had a very popular booth with many/all? of his kits on display.

Had a nice talk with Dave from Deluxe Inn about my beer car project which uses his boxcar roof and ends.

The ModUTrack layout looked great as usual. Bill Denton's Hiawatha looked great rounding the new broad curves. Nice to meet Roger Holmes.

Not much to report.  It was a blah show for announcements.  Except for FVM.

Same as the Daylight one.  Just repainted.  They did have the white walls on the drivers though.

^    Not that I'm aware of.   

Atlas did have some of the upcoming SD9 run on display. The California Northern units look sweet (I'm biased), although the green is a little too light. 

Athearn had a HO SP steamer on display where the skyline casting was removable depending on which era you modeled.  That was pretty sweet. Otherwise, nothing.

Jamie and Mike ran around and took pictures yesterday afternoon.

And Modutrak will be in an upcoming Cory's Office video blog for MR.

Got in late last night with all the tear-down, loading trailers and such.

I've got to put some fires out at work here, but should have photos up in a couple hours. Not that much to report overall, but I do have photos of some of the new releases.

Halfway to Milwaukee I realized that I hadn't packed the camera so no photos but I had a great time.  Weiner schitzel ala Holstein (topped with two eggs, anchovies and capers) and red cabbage on Friday night enabled me to "cropdust" the entire show on Saturday.

We had  a nice long visit with Bob "TrainCat" Knight (he even let me park my stuff at his booth).  His array of built up displays of his kits was awesome.  The upcoming river barges and tow boat were particularly impressive.  I bought the auto carrier to work on some cold January weekend.  Bob is a great guy with great products.

Matt FVM had the preproduction Hiawatha on display.  A beautiful sight that I've waited 30 years for. He expects delivery in about 6 weeks.  Matt says the brass Milwaukee Road transfer caboose that he announced about 2 years ago is still planned. The other thread covers his other announcements.

The best layout at the show (and there are many, many layouts) was, as usual, Mini Modu Track.  We had a nice chat with Mike Skibbe and a brief hello to Bill Denton.  All of the super detailed engines and weathered rolling stock look great running through well planned Midwestern scenery.  While looking at the layout we met Dave Schneider who came all the way from Alaska.  He had a backpack full of surprises and we got a hands on look at the beer car brass etching project. Cool!  Nice to put another face and handshake with  what was previously only a forum name.

In addition to my TrainCat purchase my other major acquisitions were a laser cut 8 story office building from Imagine That Laser and the new Diesel book from the Milwaukee Road Historical Association.

Looking forward to next year already.
