Registration is open for the NC Rail Run, N Scale edition, which will be held in North Carolina February 19-21, 2010.

This is the first ever all N Scale OpSIG operating weekend and follows the format of the successful all-scales event that has been held for three years in this area.

Five operating N Scale model railroads are involved in the RailRun.   The maximum number of registrants for the event is 15.  Participants will operate one of two layouts on Friday afternoon, one layout all day Saturday, and again one of two layouts on Sunday morning.  The Friday and Sunday layouts have a 10-person/5-person split, and the Saturday layout will support all 15 registered participants.

Layout completion ranges from still under construction but operating to completely scenicked and operating.   Positions available will vary by layout.

For more information, including layout descriptions and registration details, please visit the site of the Central Carolina N Scalers, which has links to event documentation at the top of its page:

Sweet, I've got a friend at film school there in Winston, and apparently I can stay the night with him.

BTW, of the 5 layouts, one has been in Great Model Railroads, and one has 2 covers (NScale and NScale Railroading) that I know of.

We still have some space available for this event in North Carolina.   We have received registrations from folks within North Carolina as well as some from as far away as Utah!

There has been a schedule change.  Sessions are now as follows:

Friday, 2/19/10 - All participants, all day at Michael Pennie's Penn Central.

Saturday, 2/20/10 - Participants will either operate on Scott Teague's Norfolk Southern Pocahontas Division or my Norfolk Southern CR&E Division.  These are afternoon sessions.

Sunday, 2/21/10 - Participants will either operate on Kevin Beck's Central Carolina Southbound (NS and CSX) or Dave Koss's Atlantic Coast Line Spartanburg Division.  These are morning sessions.

These are all Digitrax layouts and all use FRS radios with headsets for communications.  All of the hosts operate together on a regular basis.  We'd love to have you join us.
