Does anyone know if anyone makes N scale laundry hanging on a clothes line?  I thought I had seen some photo etched stuff at some point.

Thanks,
Erik

For anyone else not so fortunate to be Puddington's beneficiary, It appears that Faller no longer makes these

But Walthers shows some from Merten available.

Make your own using tin foil folded over a thin piece of thread, glue the sides together, cut out the clothes shapes and paint. String it between some poles and you're done! The foil allows you to crunch it slightly to add realistic folds, it will represent the scale clothes thickness better & you can't beat the price.

Be prepared for "sticker-shock" from Prieser and Merten. We ordered some Prieser's for a customer earlier this year, and they arrived at about $30 retail! :o

Paul's idea works. The heavy gauge tinfoil or the foil from wine or champagne bottles works even better. It has a 'thickness' that makes it more believable, IMO. And tonight's the best time to find the bottle foil!

If you separate the plastic laundry from the plastic line and attach it to fine wire instead, this is what you can do:

That was my plan . . . of course sirenworks has a good point about this being the night for "collecting" metal foil.

Interesting.  The photo of the Faller laundry women set I have in my trusty 2007 Walthers catalog has identical laundry as this drawing of the Merten set.

Many of Faller's figures were Merten retreads, which is still true for many of the newer sets available today. Just to make things even more strange, many of Woodland Scenics figures are Faller sets, resulting in a lot of confusing crossover between WS, Faller and Merten (I'm still trying to sort it all out). However, Merten is becoming harder to find, even though they've essentially re-launched their line under their own name (I have a recent catalog of theirs). They're supposed to have been bought out by Preiser, and for a very short while the Merten figures were branded Preiser-Merten. Hard to say what's going on any more, though; it's all a jumble.
