More over, who will be subsequently; and immediately slagged for posting new releases first; Atlas or Athearn.........? ;D
Model railroading isn't saving my life, but it's providing me moments of joy not normally associated with my current situation..... Train are good!

Atlas has several December announcements in the catalog and had a couple good opportunities to show any new items so my expectations are pretty low.

I just need to decide if I want one of the MNNR -7s that should be part of December's list.

Athearn should be ready to annoubnce tomorrow for December. As jason said there are things in the Atlas catalog that haven't been announced yet as a monthy offering, but you can order. In the long run who cares, we've had a good year and 2010 looks even better.

I agree - two GEVO's, the SD70ACE's, the Atlas gons and the forthcoming Athearn tank cars - and who can even remember some of the other stuff...

In the long run who cares,

Heck fire I care!  ;D I assume they are announcing something not in the catalog, otherwise they could have simply cut & paste from the catalog. I'm probably wrong. ::)

Which announcements will Lou complain about first, Atlas or Athearn?

Probably Atlas - since Athearn has nothing to complain about!   8)

Seems to me that in the past, Atlas has rarely announced much in December.
I imagine they're busy loading up sleighs and what not...

They have unloaded surprises though, like the MP15...

Exactly. The Shay was a late December thing too IIRC.

EDIT: Alas no, surprises (yet)

Ok - awesome new run of tank cars and gons!

But question... in the B30-7's - why does Atlas insist upon doing the CSX TRANSPORTATION scheme on models - it was only around for a few DAYS if I recall...  They've done this on GP40-2's and other units as well.  Kato did it once too on the first run of SD40's I believe.

But they ignore stealth, which was actually applied to a lot of units and had at least 2 variations.

Just wondering...

Interesting ... according to this site only 11 units ever got that scheme:

Ooh yeah!  Three, count them, THREE Seaboard System B30-7s!  This makes me smile.  AND, we are getting closer and closer to the future announcement of B36-7s in SBD paint.   :)
