I use about six of them; like all other paints they are subject to the "eye of the beholder".... They are a good paint for both air brushing and brush use; no issues with their technical merits at all. With regard to colour I am generally pleased with their fidelity to the chips that I both own (a few) and those I have seen at shows with people form the CP Historical Society and the CNSIG. That said; and without turning this thread into a 40 posting debate on colour theory, the accuracy to the 1:1 scale chip doesn't always translate well onto a 1:160 plastic model.
For example; their CP tuscan is a dead nuts match for chip the CP guys have; which was a light shielded chip from CPR vaults. But when I use it un doctored on a plastic or resin model it's way; way too purple - not even vivid, Kodachrome slides I've seen of freshly painted units or cars match the paint... or the chip for that matter.
The medium (what you're painting) has a great bearing on the appearance of the paint - so matching a chip may or may not match the visual appearance of the things that were painted with it in 1:1 scale. Add to that the issue of scale; plastic/brass sides and you have a potental delta for error that is pretty large.
All that said; their paints are closer than anything I've worked with - the CP tuscan is an easy fix; as was their Morancy Orange - couple of drops of this and that and I got what I liked..but; as i said; we all "see" colour differently and the issues I've mentioned here all play a role.
