At Home Depot last night, which door do you buy - Not the 50-75 bones ones,
but the 25 dollar ones (undec) they are kind of white or grey at 36x70?

The technical term that will make them light up at the service desk is a 3068 (pronounced Three Oh-Six Eight) Flush Luaun (Loo-WAN) Door Slab.

I think what you were looking at was a pre-hung door unit with the frame.  You shouldn't have to pay more than about $30.

Lee's right.  However, some places refer to a door that's not prehung as a "blank," which means that the lauan door is not drilled or mortised for hardware. The 3068 means that the door is three feet, zero inches (36") wide by six feet, eight inches tall (80").  You want a lauan door, because it will be completely flat (as opposed to a raised panel door), allowing you to maximize the glue surface to adhere your scenery base (many of us use foam) to the door.
