Southbound Acela Express in Back Bay Station, Boston, MA. Pan shot with liberal use of Adobe Photoshop's "noise remove" tool to get rid of the grain caused by the low-light situation and a high ISO. The station is in a tunnel, and shooting at a lower ISO would require a several second exposure, which isn't feasible without a tripod.

Always like to get shots of low numbered units.  Here's CSX 14 last Saturday:

Some photos I dug up the other day, doing research for a model of Newport.

Starting off with a builder's photo:

The following sequence of photos were taken by a twelve-year-old named Jim a couple of weeks after he received a camera for Christmas of 1949.  The locomotive is Beaufort & Morehead No. 8, a GE 45t diesel, and I believe first diesel owned by B&M.  It was soon replaced with the famous Whitcombs.  The bridge is over the Newport River between Radio Island-a man-made island resulting from dredging the turning basin for the port-and Beaufort.

Finally, a post card with the Atlantic Hotel, built and owned by Atlantic and North Carolina (later NS, A&NC again, and finally I think it made it into A&EC era before it burned down).

Good shots so far!  As for Jason's video, I love how all those dolts drove in front of the moving train without being able to see if there was a faster train passing it on the parallel track!   :o
