I never thought about getting one of these before but with their reissue I'm thinking about getting one just for the fun of it.

Has anyone put a decoder in a Shay?  If I get one I might have some work for Lee.

I've put Lenz mini silver decoders in seven Atlas Shays from the first and second runs.

Stay cool and run steam..... 8) 8)

I installed my a TCS M1 in my first Shay and a Lenz gold mini in the second. I plan to replace the M1 with a gold mini when I get a round tuit. The M1 fit under the oil bunker. I installed the gold mini in the cab roof. No frame or shell cutting on either installation. the lights are a be-atch.

It takes some doing, but a DZ125 fits in there, too.  Funny, I've done 3 or 4 of these, but I haven't done mine yet!

Somebody at a train show I was at recently had N scale shays running with sound. I can't recall if it was NN3 or not. I wonder if it was a modified Atlas shay?
