Extreme Trains season 1 DVD - that means there will be more.  someone should have shoved a boxcar in that guy's mouth.

I only saw one episode and was not impressed with the show.  What impressed me was that Craig from BLMA had him at the BLMA booth and I have to say, he generated a lot of excitement.  The kids went wild.  I am happy to see that trains still appeal to kids.  Hopefully that will help perpetuate the hobby.

That was a brilliant move Craig!

What's this I hear about Intermountain doing cement tubes in HO? Coming to N someday (sooner would be better than later)?

Since most of what InterMountain does in HO makes it to N eventually, I would say that's a safe bet.  But there are a number of projects lined up in front of it, so it might be a while:  AC-12 cab forwards; ATSF 1960s caboose; the Canadian SDs (can't remember the designation at the moment); FP9s; boat tail observation; fluted coaches; and some other new tooling they haven't announced yet that I know is on the burner already.  Even the digital drawings of the obs were mistakenly displayed in Portland, as that was supposed to stay under wraps for a little while longer.  Look for the 53' flats to be done in N also at some point.

What really surprised me about being there with Matt is that nobody talked smack to his face... I think some people have a hard time differentiating 'acting' and how a person is in real life.  He had some great stories about doing the show(like how he argued with the producers for an hour that locomotives do indeed still have brake shoes...), good stories about working on Pan Am, and good ones about stuff totally unrelated to trains... all around great guy to go to a bar (or three) with.

He absolutely loved the kids, and they loved him, which was absolutely by far the best thing about the show... period.  I remember one little girl in particular who upon seeing him said "I didn't know you were REAL!"

I actually like that show, they could have worse shows and he's not a bad host. Imagine if there were no cabl;e and we had all "reality" talent shows.

I was told that they transition their HO stuff to N scale based on HO sales; if it sells well in HO they do it in N....

My friend tried to reason with them the other year at the Phila show. Like talking to a wall. Wonder how many MILW sets they will sell?

BLI - They had the E8's on display (2 running) and one sample of the PA/PB.  They still say they are planning on doing the Mountain, and it will probably be the next release.

Right after the centipedes?  I think Dave V hit it pretty much on the head over on their forums.  I have a hard time swallowing this.

None of the above.  That was a photo of one of the layouts that got uploaded by mistake.  And I think it's an HO layout at that...
