Snapped this shot near Jamaica, Queens on the LIRR on Thursday:



I saw 3 like this.  Glad to see the old LIRR "Dashing Commuter" scheme back in vogue!  Hard to see here but the ends were the correct orange.

3 in that paint scheme ? I know of # 102 and 104 , they are or were protect engines the were sent to Harold Interlocking as a unit , nose to nose . The cab ends had passenger type couplers . A 3rd one is good news .

I MAY be mistaken...  We were moving too fast to see road numbers.  On the way into the city we saw a pair coupled back-to-back, but on the way back we saw this one alone.

Even if it's just 2, it's still sweet to see.
