More IM Sleeping cars

   Just a quick update. I recieved my other order of IM 6-4-4 sleepers this one from BLW. Included is one of my favorite cars"Banana Road" a car built in 1941 for service on Illinois Central's Panama Limited. IM has done a really nice job on this paint scheme it is just drop dead gorgeous,Brown & Orange with gold striping,other road name in IC is "Land O Strawberries". The Golden State two tone scheme of bright red lower sides and aluminum silver upper body with silver trucks is also a knock out. I also recieved SP Sunset scheme with scarlet letterboard not bad either. I have had no trouble with the interrior lighting on these new cars, maybe because I'am carefully taking the time to remove the plastic insulator tabs. Yes the magnetic wands on most of my other cars do press fit together ok, it was just the first car I opened which prompted my mention of a poor fit in my first review. Nate Goodman (Nato).

They have donme an excellent job on the paint schemes. The CNW also really stands out, hopefully they will disappear from our shelves quickly.

I received the shadowline AT&SF car yesterday.  The wand went together O.K. but the tabs were missing and the car will not light.  They did you a terrific job on the shadowlining.  As for the lighting, I usually don't have lighted cars anyhow.

  Bob, If you did not read the other thread started by me about these cars find it UP 1950's explained how easy it is to get inside,access the batteries and use tweezers to remove plastic still insulating when tab broke off. An easy repair cured my cars with non working lights. The lighting on these cars actually looks kind of cool with a yellowish glow. A quik fix takes all of 10 minutes or less and is worth the fix. You might as well get what you paid for, "Working Interrior Lights". Nate Goodman (Nato).

Don't you mean red upper body and aluminum lower sides?  That is the way that the Golden State cars should be...

Took the car apart found the almost invisable piece of plastic and removed it and the car now lights.  Unique design and they do look good.
