GHQ FL Cab over lineage

Does anyone know what the time frame is on GHQ's Freightliner cab over? Looks like an early 70s model, but I can't find a quality photo top tell. How about the Con Cor models?

It does appear to be a model that would fit right in from late 60's all the way through the mid 80's as the Cabover Freightliners body was relatively unchanged until the mid to late 80's period.

Yes, it looks like a White/Freightliner from the mid 1970's. We used them for team operations when I worked for a trucking company in the 1980's. Check out http://www.hankstruckpictures.com/trucks.htm and search Freightliner cabover, you can get get some nice photos.  Like wazzou said, the body style did not change much from the 60's to the 80's, I think rectangular headlights being the biggest change, but I'm by no means an expert.  The Con-Cor model looks generic to me imho.

When I say 'early 70s' I'm thinking 71'-72', so it means primarily  mid-60s vintage to then. Both FL and KW had some enduring designs with detail differences over decades. One of the challenges I am facing in that time period is a blackhole of autos, and not enough trucks and many that seem to be just a 'few' years past that mark. I know the saying is don't sweat the details, but I have a hard time suspending my disbelief in certain areas. I'm working on that but...

Unfortunately, nothing in Atlas's growing vehicle line will work.

The radiator indicates it is a mid to late 1970's vintage. The Con-Cor model is good for the late 70's. Showcase has a perterbuilt good for the late 60's - late 70's.

If you want somethng older, try the DA White cabeover, GHQ Kenworth bullnose would also work.

Class 8 rigs usially have a production life of about 15 years between major retooling. This reduces the cost of production runs for the manufactuer and parts for trucking companies.

The Peterbilt model by Showcase is a late 80's, early 90's model due to the one piece windshield and the square headlights however it can be backdated without too much trouble.

The cabover F'liners were 1st produced in the late 60's by Consolidated Frieghtways (CF). Thet sold the design to White,hence the White Frieghtliner. They became just Frieghtliner in the 70's. The truck (C.O.E.))was made, I believe until the mid- late 90's. Many are still on the road today. In the 2000's years,they redisigned their cabover.
 In 1986 I owned a 1982 double bunk Frieghtliner. It almost drove me out of trucking. The ride was horrible. In the late 80's, they added air ride to the cab & improved the ride drasticly. I moved on to Kenworths & never looked back.
