NKP built a 500,000pd flatcar in 1954... went to N&W as their F31 class.  It's no tthe beast the PRR car is, as NKP didn't reuse tender trucks, nor is it depressed cneter... they used standard freight car trucks with 7x12 bearings on a span-bolster...

Yes NandW, I have drawings of it ;)

When the Keystone Dam west of Tulsa was built, they brought in the turbine to generate electricity on a monster depressed flat-car, then loaded it onto two "low-boy" semi-trailers (8 axles each, I think) with one tractor driving forward and the other IN REVERSE at thundering 3MPH. Then did the same thing with the generator. My Dad and I tried to get where we could phototgraph either move, but there was 7-8 miles of solid bumper-to bumper traffic on the road that's now underwater, and neither of us had the idea of hiking 10 miles of rough up and down woods to hope to find a place to get a picture, especially since both moves took place when there had been rain to heavy thunderstorms.
